     ICC Honorary Chairman

Gerard Worms became Honorary Chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce on 1 July 2013, after serving as Chairman since March 2011.

Mr Worms is also Chairman of ICC France, Vice-Chairman of the investment bank Rothschild Europe, and Honorary Chairman of the privately-run centre for economic research Coe-Rexecode.

He has chaired ICC France since 2006. Much of Mr Worms’ career has been with the multinational Suez Group, as Executive Vice-President then Chairman and CEO. He was Chairman of Banque Indosuez and the insurance group Victoire. Graduating from France’s Ecole Polytechnique in 1957 and Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Mines in 1960, Mr Worms went on to follow a high-level career in the public and private sectors. His early experiences include working as an advisor to the French Minister of Industry Olivier Guichard, and the Prime Minister Jacques Chaban-Delmas.

Mr Worms was Executive Vice-President of publishing conglomerate Hachette in the 1970s, then became Executive Vice-President of the chemicals and pharmaceuticals group Rhône-Poulenc. Supporting a range of clubs and societies, Mr Worms is Honorary Chairman of France’s National Technical Research Association (ANRT) and the Société d’Economie Politique. He is a Commander of the French Legion of Honour.
